Just to make life difficult, copyright law varies among countries.
The Irish Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 outlines what the
story is in this part of the world. Fundamentally, Section 21 defines
the photographer as the author of a photographic work, and first
ownership of copyright resides with the photographer as stated in

It means that we, Norton Associates, own the copyright of any
photographic work we create for you. However, as a matter of
course we include one year of unlimited usage for such work unless
an alernate arrangement is agreed.
